Great location, and, very friendly staff (albeit during Covid, there was only one very friendly staff person). Covid made it less busy with fewer people.

Noisy and disturbing at night, might I say, without mentioning it to the management, yet!

Only one male and one female toilet/ bathroom open, in corners of ground floor. No sign of TV room. No one in office early morning or evening for local advice.

Rooms were clean and comfy however this was the worst kitchen of any YHA we have stayed in. Had to clean pots and pans and cooking areas prior to using. No crockery no cutlery. Food left in cupboards that have check out dates from 2 months ago. Shared bathroom was clean and warm.

I’ve stayed here many many times over the years and never had a problem. This time it had the atmosphere of a hostel for the homeless, which I understand may be the case due to the current climate but for a paying guest this is NOT good at all. Service was ok, disappointed no reception staff or tour bookings service. I didn’t use kitchen facility this time, spa bath was filthy, pool ok. Not many other female guests around I felt a bit intimidated but safe enough. This time I’m disappointed 😢
